String Game

I’ve been busy with my usual mix of teaching, coordinating and making art. Above is a picture from the most recent workshop at Woman Made Gallery with the outreach program that I coordinate, 20 Neighborhoods.

It’s wonderful working with the team of teaching artists; it’s a nice counter to my time alone making art in my studio.

Each workshop begins with an interpretive tour using the Visual Thinking Strategies method, where participants discuss the art and come up with the meaning themselves, without being told, “this is what the artist intended, here’s the story of their life.” It works really well and is empowering!
