Call for Art: Group Micro Show at the Oak Park Art League in 2026

How small can you work and still maintain your style?

After last year’s Microcosm Exhibit, you know what to expect! Think dollhouse meets fine art gallery. Can you capture your artistic vision in miniature while creating an immersive viewing experience?
Challenge accepted! This unique exhibition will feature individual solo shows—but with a twist. Each artist creates their own miniature gallery experience inside a 12″ x 12″ x 12″ (or 12″ x 16″ x 12″) box gallery, inspired by the famous Thorne Rooms at 1:12 scale. Proving that great art comes in small packages!

Additional wall space will be made available for micro collections to be exhibited outside the mini box galleries. This exhibition is timed so that tiny art can be purchased as holiday gifts!

Your Challenge:

Create a mini solo show where each artwork is 4″ or smaller, .25” thickness

Design your mini solo gallery within the provided box gallery dimensions or create your own box gallery.

Include one full-size companion piece for the main gallery wall (max 16″ x 20″, not including frame)

All art forms welcome: Painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, photography, fiber arts, ceramics—get creative with scale!
