Call for solo shows in 1:12 miniature art galleries, The Angelica Kauffman Galleries

Update:  this post is still up to date!  As of August 6, 2022, we have openings for shows in October, November and December 2022.  Please do submit your work.  When we’re full for the year we’ll update this post.

Booking now for 2022 for solo shows that last 2-3 weeks. Shows are presented on Instagram on the @AngelicaKauffmanGallery account and include mini interviews with the solo artist. By the end of 2021, our galleries will have been out on public display for 12.5 months. There is the possibility your show would be on public display, but that’s not guaranteed. We have had shows in the Glass Case Gallery at The Waste Shed, at the Orland Park Public Library, in the window of Calypso Moon Studio and at The Seed boutique.

There are multiple micro-galleries, please visit our Call for Solo Shows post and see the various galleries. We have two dollhouses, and box galleries in two sizes: 12″ x 16″ and 12″ x 12″. The maximum size for 2D art is 4″ x 4″. The maximum size for 3D art is hard to quantify, but really small, it needs to look like it would work/make sense inside a gallery that is staffed by PlayMobil figures.

You may propose a solo show for any of the galleries/doll houses. It takes 7-8 pieces of 2D art to fill a 12″ x 12″ box gallery. The dollhouses have 4+ rooms.  Art must be family friendly and galleriest reserves the right to not show art.

Types of shows you can propose:

• Solo show. You can indicate which gallery you’re proposing your show for: 12×12, 12×16, Loft, Pink Dollhouse Art Center, Blue Dollhouse (under construction).
• Curated group show, you give instructions on how to install it and I’ll install it.  Mail all the art in one package.
• We also accept mini murals, made of wall graphics, for the outside of the galleries. These must be professionally printed, low tack wall graphics. (We can send you a discount code. )
• Christo-style take over of the entire pink dollhouse art center where you work with the whole building in a non-damaging, temporary way.

Presentation:

Artworks should be mounted on a thin substrate – 2D works on paper need a little additional depth to create the correct illusion for the tiny gallery. Photographs may be mounted on foam core or 1/8″ thick wood panel.

All work can be for sale, sales go directly through the artist, no commissions taken. All artwork is loaned to the gallery and will be returned. Artist pays for return shipping. International artists are welcome.
