I’m so excited that the project is expanding and that it will now be easier for Canadians to participate!

Canadian artist Jennie Johnston writes:

We are excited to announce a Canada wide artist call for a community art project called: Clocking in for Unpaid Labo[u]r Canada

Coordinated with fellow artist @shaminasenaratne this project was created by Chicago Illinois artist Elaine Luther in 2021.

Time cards record the hourly work done by workers in paid institutions. In many ways they are obsolete today, but we invite you to ponder the work that you do without getting paid to add your voice and vision to this project.

Whether the work you do without pay is emotional labour, housework, caregiving, or unpaid aspects of freelance work, we invite you to join us to make a time card.

This project is open to all genders and all forms of unpaid labor.
There are no restrictions on the type of media.
