Photographers say that the best camera is the one you have with you. These were taken with my phone, because even though I’ve committed to taking my little camera* with me “everywhere,” apparently everywhere doesn’t include a quick trip to the grocery store on Sunday before getting back to the studio.**
Did you know the entire town goes to the grocery store on Sunday? There were no carts. Always a bad sign. I carried my essentials to the quick lane by hand.
Luckily, before I went in, I took a picture of this parked train. And the hole in the wall, which I always look through when I go to the store.
Baffled shoppers watched me take the picture of the hole in the wall. Couldn’t they see it? That patch of sky, framed by concrete, so full of possibilities.
*I keep seeing my little camera everywhere, at a recent wedding, it was a favorite of sorority girls and groomsmen alike.
**I have a rule against going to the store on my long Studio Sundays, but I had to leave to pick up a child at a practice and was out anyway.
Elaine’s Studio Rules
Eat a good breakfast, you don’t want to get hungry and have to stop.
Pack a snack (see above).
No shopping, no email, no computer.
No cleaning. No dishes and no laundry. Emptying the studio trashcan is allowed.
Crank the music.
Make sure everyone knows not to interrupt. (Never interrupt the wizard while he’s playing.) Points! if you catch that obscure reference.

How about you? Do you have rules for your studio? I’d love to hear them, the comments are open!
: ) Yes! Right up our alleys!
Thanks so much!
Yay! Another exciting tiny thing!
