Surprise Mail Club Membership!

I’m launching a Surprise Mail Club! You’ll get something in the mail every quarter. Exactly what, you won’t know! But, here are some ideas – a 4″ x 6″ original cyanotype on watercolor paper, a zine about some aspect of women’s history and or rights, and two more things that will be a total surprise! Even I don’t know yet! But I do know that it will be fun, and cool, and you’ll get stuff that may not be available anywhere else!

As soon as you join, I’ll mail you your laminated membership card!  Here’s where you can join!

Traveling to Teach

I’m excited to be teaching weekend workshops again – I’ll be at Shake Rag Alley Art Center in Mineral Point, Wisconsin in April and October 2026.

Singing Mamas

I’m thrilled to announce that I’m an officially licensed Singing Mamas Community Leader! This is relevant to you if you’re in Chicagoland and are a new mama, pregnant, or a mama of a toddler, or woman who wants to be in community, and want to sing for wellbeing! I plan to launch this in March, or sooner, if a group comes together sooner. I’m in talks with a location and my website will be up in early January. Singing Mamas is a program from the UK, so the online portion of my training took place starting at 4 am! That’s how committed I am to this!

While this may seem out of the blue to some, I taught folks to sing for years as a Girl Scout leader, and both are part of the oral singing tradition.

Solo Show – Trailside Museum of Natural History

In January, I’ll have a solo show at the Trailside Museum of Natural History in River Forest, Illinois. It’s part of the Cook County Forest Preserve. Watch this blog for more on that!

Oak Park Art League in Oak Park, IL.

Artist in Residence at the Oak Park Art League!

Dates for this aren’t set yet, but I will be the artist in residence at the Oak Park Art League for a 3 month period in 2026! This comes with studio space and a chance to do a project with the public. I’m very excited about this!  (Love this photo of it in spring!)

I’ll continue with the AKG @ OPAL, and we’re reprising our group micro show, with some fun, new changes, at OPAL.  In 2026 the show will be from October – December and you’ll have the option of building/making/providing your own box gallery!  You can preview the call for art on the OPAL website.

What I’m Inviting in, in 2026

An expanded identity of what I do as a teaching artist, and that now includes building community around singing for wellbeing and supporting new mamas!

Working more with art consultants and doing public art projects.

Making my small, shippable art easier to buy, in local boutiques and galleries and in my online shop.

Being in more books, magazines and on podcasts.

More in-person community, more making art and stuff just for fun.  I had a lot of fun helping my kids with their Halloween costumes and some other things and noticed how great it was to make things that weren’t serious art.

Continuing my studio time, advancing my skills, and making the art that only I can make.

Continuing to visit museums and galleries with friends and family; going to conferences as a participant and a speaker; supporting creative reuse stores.

Earning more money as an artist!
